Get Active With A Little Help From Your Friends

O.K. I want to be active, I need to be active, I'd love to say I was an active person but I'm not. And quite frankly I don't even know where to start....I hate the whole idea of exercise, and if I was really honest, sometimes don't really care for the people who say they love exercise!!!! Sound familiar?!? Well, if you can relate to any of the above, trust me you are not in the minority...You are my friend, the majority and it's time we made some changes....We all know that exercise benefits us in more ways than one: Physical Benefits: weight-loss, lower blood pressure, increased energy, lower meds, better sleep Emotional Benefits: ability to think more clearly after a good work-out or walk, alleviates depression and anxiety, increases confidence, increase patience And the list goes on and on and on! I am FREE to enjoy eating healthy! Yes, we all want "to want" to eat healthy, we just don't "want to" right?!? Do you get me here? All month long we are discovering the beauty of healthy living! Changing our perspectives, looking through a different lense and learning to love our new healthy lifestyle! In the age of processing just about everything, so that we can have it Yesterday!!, counting more than calories has become a necessity in the journey toward improved health and wellness.... Before this piece of information sends you to the pantry saying "counting calories is hard enough, forget it, it's just not worth it...." Let me assure you, it's easier than you may think and I will outline in here for you...Here we go...The major players in the game of weight loss are as follows... SODIUM: Here are the cold, hard facts. The body requires only 500 milligrams of sodium each day. The American Heart Association recommends no more than 2,400 milligrams of sodium per day, but most of us take in more than 4,000 milligrams every day. In the interest of keeping it simple: if you are trying to lose weight, stay somewhere between 1500-2000mg per day (remember, sodium content is on food labels too!) SUGAR: The 2005 Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommends no more than 8 ...
